This is a "short film" I created for the eighth graders of Downingtown Middle School to provide them with details on "Ready Day", an event meant to give the students a transition between middle school and high school! I had been anticipating to do this project for over a year, and though it finally came to fruition, in some regards it did not meet my expectations. Nevertheless, I owe it to my guidance counselor for giving me the awesome opportunity to make this video.
Initially I aspired to create a more thought-out video, with the people in it moving around and talking directly to the viewer (similar to a short film I made two years ago, "The EdTech Enterprise"). Unfortunately, what started as a video that I imagined being smart and fast paced turned into a rather dull informational advertisement with everyone sitting down and talking to the camera while reading off of the script. While this was a disappointment, as I feel something more exciting could have been done, my hope is for this to at least convey the purpose of Ready Day to the students of DMS - and also keep hold of their attention, as that was our ultimate goal.
To the students of DMS and West watching this - enjoy! To everyone else - I know this project may seem a bit out of the ordinary, but regardless I hope you all enjoy it as well.
