Ignoring airline loyalty programs is a HUGE mistake. You’re literally leaving free lounge access, upgrades, and bags on the table. And I know it can get confusing, but here’s the secret: you don’t need to know every program, just the three alliances. Oneworld, SkyTeam, and Star Alliance. Pick one airline, use that frequent flyer number when booking, and boom — your perks work across dozens of partners worldwide. And if you already have status with one airline, you can often match status to another, even if it's in a different alliance. Filling out a simple status match form online may mean instant lounge access even while flying economy. Obviously, there are dozens of airline-specific programs, but some of my favorites are Alaska for sweet spot redemptions, Southwest for domestic travel and the Companion Pass, Virgin Atlantic for a variety of redemptions like ANA First Class or Virgin cruises, and Flying Blue for their monthly promos. So stop ignoring these programs — sign up, focus on one, and you’ll be flying in style before you know it. Trust me…
