There are a lot of credit card myths out there, some of which are kind of true and others that are completely false. For starters, the idea that credit cards are dangerous assumes that you aren't using your cards responsibly. And maybe that's a fair assumption for some but as long as you only spend money that you actually have on things that you'd already be buying anyway and you pay off your card in full each month then you really have nothing to worry about and if anything you'll improve your credit score which could save you money in interest on other loans. There's also this idea that credit card points are too complicated and aren't worth the effort and this one is just simply not true. While it can get complicated if you're really into it, it's really as simple as earning points on a credit card from your everyday spending and redeeming those points for free travel and if you're just looking to save some money on one or two trips a year, then you don't really have to get much more complicated than that. A few hours of effort could save you thousands of dollars which, for most of us, is time well spent. But perhaps the most valid argument I've heard is that using miles of points is somehow unethical and that those who are in debt paying tons of interest are actually the ones paying for these free flights and hotels. But this myth does not show the full picture on where banks are generating revenue from and how they're paying for these point programs so to learn more about that and other common credit card myths check out the full video here because
