Day 25
Posie got a crystal berry for us and we took it to Rosie. Rosie loved it more than the water stone and let us have the stone. Lily told us where to put the water stone and water instantly began gushing out. Lily gave us some of the water. She said that the water will allow any plant to grow quickly, but not right now as the sun still isn't out.
Lily pointed us northwest. She said we might find something at the Sun Tower. Well...I didn't expect to find the actual sun up there. I was surprised we were able to approach him. He told us that the reason he can't get back into the sky is because of the Puff Puff Machine producing all these clouds. I told him that we could destroy it. The sun said that the clouds are coming from the east. That must be where it is.
We were on our way east when we ran into a lakitu named Lakilester (though he says he changed his name to Spike). Lakilester put up quite a fight, but we beat him in the end. He was ready for me to finish him when his girlfriend, Lakilulu, came by to save him.
Lakilulu insisted that Lakilester was only following Huff N. Puff's orders and begged me to spare him. Lakilester wasn't too happy about Lakilulu stepping in for him. I've seen that spark before. The desire to prove himself. I did spare him. Lakilester did confirm that he only joined with Huff N. Puff to become a better man, but so far that hasn't helped. He asked me why I bother fighting. I was honest with him. I live in this world, I intend to keep it safe for me, for Peach, and for everyone else I care about.
Lakilester admired that kind of purpose and asked to join me and my friends. He knows exactly where the Puff Puff Machine is. Lakilulu didn't want Lakilester to come with us, but he promised he would come back. She flew away after that.
I told Lakilester he could come with us. My friends were a bit skeptical, but I trust Lakilester. That determination and the desire to impress the girl you love...I've seen it before many times. He won't betray us.
