This is the story of how Frank Mullen ended up taking some of GG Allin’s most iconic pictures during a few photo shoots in Tampa Florida, 1991. In addition Frank conducted the classic Bleeding” Stinkin” & Drinkin” interview on one of the nights he was shooting pictures at the house in Tampa. Before his work with GG, Frank was the drummer for the legendary hardcore band from Gainesville FL, Roach Motel. During their time together (1982-1984) Roach Motel did shows together with the likes of Black Flag, Minor Threat, The Dead Kennedys and others. Frank went on to have a successful carrier as a photographer shooting the likes of Iggy Pop, The Flaming Lips, The White Stripes and more. His work found it’s way on the pages of heavy hitters such as Rolling Stone, People, Mojo, Spin, the Wall Street Journal and many others. He was always pleasant, kind and positive. It was a pleasure to call him friend. GG certainly felt comfortable letting him shoot photos of him and it certainly showed.
