GG Allin liked making acoustic music. I was a big fan of his acoustic songs and was glad to have had an acoustic guitar at the house while GG was staying there while we made Carnival of Excess. GG did some acoustic songs in the living room and also some in the bathroom that week, including Carmelita, the Warren Zevon classic. He did 5 acoustic songs over the course of the week, 3 of which The Razor sang back up vocals on. It was a rare occurrence that GG would have a female accompany him on his vocal duties, so this was somewhat of a shock. This acoustic version of Carmelita was used in the Todd Phillips (Old School, The Hangover, The Joker) documentary film about GG, titled Hated. It was also used in the Hated soundtrack. I have seen both the living room and the bathroom footage used in several internet documentaries, uncredited of course. I don’t blame them for including this classic footage! The acoustic GG tracks can be heard on all of the streaming services and are on the Uncool, Unclean, Unplugged and Bleedin’, Stinkin’ and Drinkin’ releases. Some tracks can also be heard on Carnival of Excess as well. #ggallin #punkrock #acousticpunk
