It wasn’t all fun and games working and dealing with GG Allin, as one can imagine. There were a few times where we butted heads and tempers flared. It this video I tell the story of how GG almost didn’t record the album, Carnival Of Excess.. He was NOT interested in using the piano and accordion on the recordings and threw a bit of a fit in the studio before we were getting ready to start recording. I honestly thought that the recordings were not going to happen. He was pretty angry at the thought of trying to expand his catalog, with this sort of instrumentation. It was not surprising that these sorts of challenges would arise, given the unique aspects of the recordings and overall what I was trying to accomplish with GG. I mean, this sort of things was never even a remote possibility on any other previous GG recording sessions, and let’s not forget about female backing vocals. This is UNHEARD OF on a GG album! In the end, I was able to convince GG that this HAD to happen, the wold needs it! He agreed and the recordings were completed. The pictures and video footage used in this episode were shot by me when GG was at my place in Tampa 1991, the week that the sessions took place. Some are from the photo shoot I did with him in North Carolina when he was there doing the vocals for the ANTiSEEN album a few months earlier.
