The CERN Shiva statue is not just decoration. The world's most powerful particle collider sits behind a bronze idol of the Hindu god of destruction, and once you see what the plaque beside it actually says about "the cosmic dance" of creation and destruction, you cannot unsee it. This is the piece of art CERN proudly displays between buildings 39 and 40, and almost nobody asks why a science lab would celebrate the Destroyer.
It goes deeper than the statue. Part of CERN is built on the French commune of St Genis-Pouilly, known in Roman times as Apolliacum, a place dedicated to Apollyon the Destroyer, the same angel of the bottomless pit named in Revelation 9:11. Add the bizarre 2016 Gotthard tunnel opening ceremony with its goat-man ritual and mock human sacrifice, and a pattern starts to form that looks less like coincidence and more like a message hiding in plain sight.
