Combat veteran Jamie Walden opened a strange email at 11 p.m., and when he read the last word, something came out of his phone and stopped his heart. He went down at the foot of his bed, unable to speak, while his wife watched it happen in real time. This is his firsthand entity encounter, told in full for the first time.
A decorated war fighter, firefighter, EMS responder, and police officer, Jamie had walked through combat without ever knowing PTSD. Yet for two weeks after that night he was too afraid to cross his own house, too afraid to turn off a light or sit alone in a room. He calls it imposed dread, a fear placed on him from the outside that no battlefield ever produced.
