Our family of 5 gives their takes on the boardgame Catan, formerly known as Settlers of Catan.
The answer to the 1st question, is yes; Catan and Settlers of Catan are the same game but CATAN is a new design, but it still has the original rules.
Our family has been playing CATAN for several years now. In this review I ask each family member their strategy for playing Catan. I also ask them how they like the game compared to other games they've played.
To generalize how to play Settlers of Catan, I'd compare it to Monopoly, but I think it's way more fun, and it helps you to think more strategically about more things.
We don't break down all of the rules of CATAN in this video, but we do you show you the full Catan game setup, and explain the object of the game.
If you're wondering "Is Settlers of Catan Fun?", the answer is definitely YES.
