In 1973, an episode of a series called Country Matters was filmed in Calderdale. The episode was The Ring of Truth, based on a short story by HE Bates. It focuses on a young man trying to figure out a recurring dream about his late father. It also stars the recently departed (November 2025) Prunella Scales.
