What is life like for the people living inside Iran?
“Tens of millions have been traumatised”, that’s the assessment of one of the few aid organisations working inside the country. The Secretary General of the Norwegian Refugee Council, Jan Egeland, gives an insight into life in Iran to TRT World’s Roundtable.
He sheds light on internal displacement and the broader humanitarian conditions within Iran.
Up to 3.2 million people have been internally displaced, with an estimated 600,000 to 1m households fleeing major cities such as Tehran to northern and more rural areas of the country.
