The European Central Bank says the digital euro won’t replace cash and coins, but will help people make secure payments online.
Daniel Kral, lead economist at Oxford Economics, tells Roundtable that the European Central Bank has been looking at maintaining "European sovereignty" and move away from its reliance on American payment systems, particularly now under President Trump.
