Legendary musician, composer and conductor Marvin Hamlisch was one of only sixteen people to win an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony awards ("EGOT") and is one of only two people (along with composer Richard Rodgers) to have won those four prizes and a Pulitzer Prize ("PEGOT").
He passed away suddenly from lung failure on August 6, 2012 when he collapsed and died in Los Angeles, California.
He is buried at Mount Zion Cemetery in Maspeth (Queens), New York in Path 28R, Gate 12, Grave 97/98, Map 39 (Beth Avrohom Society - about 6 graves to the right as you enter Gate 12).
