It's been a little while since we brought you guys out into the garden, and wow, things have changed.
At the beginning of the season we were honestly so discouraged that we almost tore the whole garden out and started over somewhere else. The sow thistle had gotten so out of control that we weren't sure we could ever get ahead of it. Instead, we decided to try something completely different, and we're really glad we did.
Today we're taking you on a full garden tour to show you what's growing, what's thriving, and what we're still learning. You'll see tomatoes, peppers, onions, potatoes, green beans, giant basil, corn, cucumbers, celery, our GreenStalk planters, and even our first attempt at growing fennel. We also talk about how we've been managing weeds with a simple hoe, dealing with the summer heat, protecting squash from vine borers, and keeping everything growing through some pretty hot weather.
Gardening has a funny way of keeping you humble. Just when you think you've figured it out, something new comes along to teach you another lesson. But that's part of what makes it so rewarding too.
We hope this video encourages you if you've been struggling with your own garden this year. Keep trying different things, don't be afraid to go back to the old ways if they work, and most of all, don't give up. Thanks for coming along with us, and we'll see you in the next one.
