This cabin trip ended up being one of those weekends where we got a little bit of everything done. We finally got back together after being apart for a few days and headed straight out on an adventure. Lately we've been completely hooked on rock hunting, so we spent hours exploring the river looking for fossils and rocks to tumble. I don't think Todd was exaggerating when he said he had to drag me out of there because I could have stayed all day.
Back at the off-grid cabin we finished rebuilding the porch railing, fixed a paint mistake that had been bothering me for way too long, and even found time for a round of disc golf and some quiet reading by the river. We wrapped up the trip talking about how our lives have changed over the years. Our channel has changed right along with us. We're still gardening and preserving food, but we're also finding new hobbies and new adventures that keep life interesting. We hope you enjoy coming along for all of it, whether we're planting tomatoes, rebuilding a deck, or getting way too excited over a really cool rock.
