I review Matthew Field's essential making of book on the iconic THE ITALIAN JOB. Field produced the on disc extras for the film and has more recently published a new longer book SELF PRESERVATION SOCIETY in 2020. I plan to read this newer book at some point but it is a UK import title. Still this volume remains a lovely book on the film that doubles as a nicely made coffee table book.
