Joel works as a smuggler with his partner, Tess (Annie Wersching), in the quarantine zone in the North End of Boston, Massachusetts. They hunt down Robert (Robin Atkin Downes), a black-market dealer, to recover a stolen weapons cache. Before Tess kills him, Robert reveals that he traded the cache with the Fireflies, a rebel militia opposing the quarantine zone authorities.
The leader of the Fireflies, Marlene (Merle Dandridge), promises to double their cache in return for smuggling a teenage girl, Ellie (Ashley Johnson), to Fireflies hiding in the Massachusetts State House outside the quarantine zone. Joel, Tess, & Ellie sneak out in the night, but after an encounter with a government patrol, they discover Ellie is infected. Symptoms normally occur within two days, but Ellie claims she was infected three weeks earlier and that her immunity may lead to a cure. The trio makes their way to their destination through hordes of the infected but finds that the Fireflies there have been killed. Tess reveals she has been bitten by an infected and believing in Ellie's importance, sacrifices herself against pursuing soldiers so Joel and Ellie can escape. Joel decides to find Tommy, a former Firefly, in the hope that he can locate the remaining Fireflies.

After leading the Orange Star army to victory over Olaf in Its War!, Andy and the advisor move the army further into Orange Star land, most of which is still occupied by Blue Moon forces. It is then that Olaf orders his subordinate Grit to assume command for the next battle, which the latter does despite not liking it; he even goes as far as to claim Blue Moon is greedy, as the land they were on was not theirs to begin with.
It is after the battle that Andy and Grit speak for the first time, in which the Blue Moon CO uses the nickname junior, striking a nerve with the Orange Star CO; A recurring theme used in the Advance Wars Campaign.

Advance Wars is a turn-based strategy video game developed by Intelligent Systems and published by Nintendo for the Game Boy Advance. It released in North America on September 10, 2001. The games release in Japan and Europe was delayed, supposedly due to the September 11 attacks in the United States. It was released in Europe in January 2002, but not Japan until the Game Boy Wars Advance 1+2 compilation in 2004. Advance Wars has been released for the Wii U Virtual Console simultaneously in Europe and North America on April 3, 2014. It is the seventh game in the Wars video game series. It is the first Wars game to be released outside Japan, as well as the first Wars game to not be released initially in Japan.
Advance Wars (GBA) is the first game in the Advance Wars series of video games, followed by Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising (Game Boy Advance), and then by Advance Wars: Dual Strike & Advance Wars: Days of Ruin for Nintendo DS. These games form a sub-series in the Wars series. At E3 2021, Nintendo announced the original Advance Wars, alongside its sequel Black Hole Rising, would be remade and released together for Nintendo Switch by WayForward in a compilation titled Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp.
The game was not originally intended for release outside Japan, like the previous entries in the series, which were released in Japan only due to Nintendo feeling that Western consumers would not be interested in turn-based games because of their complex mechanics. In order to alleviate this, the developers made the mechanics of Advance Wars easy to understand, adding in an in-depth tutorial that did not require players to read the manual. Designer Kentaro Nishimura commented that the games success shifted Nintendos attitude over Western tastes, and that same success is frequently credited as a driving force for Nintendo bringing another Intelligent Systems franchise, Fire Emblem, outside of Japan beginning with the seventh installment.
The story takes place on a fictional continent, where two nations, Orange Star and Blue Moon, have been fighting each other for years. The conflict enters a new stage when an Orange Star commanding officer named Andy is accused of attacking the armies of two other nations, Yellow Comet and Green Earth, without reason, resulting in a worldwide war. The game was released to critical acclaim and has been listed among the greatest video games of all time.

Advance Wars begins in Field Training, a tutorial mode, with the nation of Orange Star in a war against the neighboring nation of Blue Moon. Olaf, Blue Moons commanding officer (CO), suddenly ordered an invasion of Orange Star, battling their forces. The campaign continues the story that started in the tutorial. Nell, de facto leader of the Orange Star COs, gives the player the duty of tactical advisor for the Orange Star Army.

This is a romhack or mod of Pokemon Emerald called: Pokemon Emerald Rogue by Pokabbie. Its a Roguelike featuring NUZLOCKE style rules, randomized pokemon starters, wild pokemon, trainer battles, gyms, and item pickups. After customizing your character sprite, you get a random starter from 3 choices from Gen 1 to 3. If you leave without choosing, Professor Birch will forcibly give you a Sunkern.
ADVENTURE: You are greeted with multiple paths leading to different places or encounters called routes. These routes range from calm, average, or tough routes, rest stops, mighty trainers, game shows, computer lab, dark deals, wild dens, and powerful legendary pokemon. After up to 3 routes, you face a mighty trainer like gym battle, or Elite Four member. The goal is to beat the 8 Gym Leaders, the Elite Four, and the Champion. The adventure only ends when you complete a run, or die trying! Money earned on Adventures can be spent on permanent upgrades in the HUB which can transfer over to future adventures. An example would be buying extra Pokeballs, Healing items, TMs, or a Metal Coat to evolve Scyther.
HUB: Grow berries in the berry patch, purchase extra pokeballs, catch pokemon in the Safari Zone, use the Bakery to permanently increase IVs, teach your pokemon new moves, and even increase your starting funds with a Bank among other things. Alternatively, you can set curses, or harsher rules, a couple of which can increase the money you gain in each adventure. Setting harsher rules or different playstyles allows you to customize your experience drastically. Want to do a REAL NUZLOCKE? Get the Embargo Curse preventing you from using items in battle except pokeballs. Then, set several Wild Curses to reduce the number of Pokemon that can be caught in an area down to 1.
QUESTS + CUSTOMIZATION: You may also attempt unique playstyles by participating in the implimented Quest system giving unique or interesting objectives. Example Quest; Kanto Style, you can change to Kanto only Regional mode then set only Kanto bosses and beat an adventure! It rewards a Shiny Pikachu from completing the quest. Some quests are easy, and some are outrageously ridiculous in difficulty, but therein lies the fun! There is much to learn, and discovering it firsthand is the best!

This is a romhack or mod of Pokemon Emerald called: Pokemon Emerald Rogue by Pokabbie. Its a Roguelike featuring NUZLOCKE style rules, randomized pokemon starters, wild pokemon, trainer battles, gyms, and item pickups. After customizing your character sprite, you get a random starter from 3 choices from Gen 1 to 3. If you leave without choosing, Professor Birch will forcibly give you a Sunkern.
ADVENTURE: You are greeted with multiple paths leading to different places or encounters called routes. These routes range from calm, average, or tough routes, rest stops, mighty trainers, game shows, computer lab, dark deals, wild dens, and powerful legendary pokemon. After up to 3 routes, you face a mighty trainer like gym battle, or Elite Four member. The goal is to beat the 8 Gym Leaders, the Elite Four, and the Champion. The adventure only ends when you complete a run, or die trying! Money earned on Adventures can be spent on permanent upgrades in the HUB which can transfer over to future adventures. An example would be buying extra Pokeballs, Healing items, TMs, or a Metal Coat to evolve Scyther.
HUB: Grow berries in the berry patch, purchase extra pokeballs, catch pokemon in the Safari Zone, use the Bakery to permanently increase IVs, teach your pokemon new moves, and even increase your starting funds with a Bank among other things. Alternatively, you can set curses, or harsher rules, a couple of which can increase the money you gain in each adventure. Setting harsher rules or different playstyles allows you to customize your experience drastically. Want to do a REAL NUZLOCKE? Get the Embargo Curse preventing you from using items in battle except pokeballs. Then, set several Wild Curses to reduce the number of Pokemon that can be caught in an area down to 1.
QUESTS + CUSTOMIZATION: You may also attempt unique playstyles by participating in the implimented Quest system giving unique or interesting objectives. Example Quest; Kanto Style, you can change to Kanto only Regional mode then set only Kanto bosses and beat an adventure! It rewards a Shiny Pikachu from completing the quest. Some quests are easy, and some are outrageously ridiculous in difficulty, but therein lies the fun! There is much to learn, and discovering it firsthand is the best!
Pokémon Emerald Version is a 2004 role-playing video game developed by Game Freak, published by The Pokémon Company and Nintendo for the Game Boy Advance. It was first released in Japan in 2004, and was later released internationally in 2005. It is a third version after Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire and is the final game of the third generation of the Pokémon video game series.
The gameplay and controls are largely the same as the previous games in the series; players control a Pokémon trainer from an overhead perspective. As with Ruby and Sapphire, the players general goal is to explore the Hoenn region and conquer a series of eight Pokémon Gyms in order to challenge the Elite Four and its Champion, while the main subplot is to defeat two criminal organizations attempting to harness a legendary Pokémons power for their own goals. General Strategy: Secure southern island as soon as possible, securing funds for a strong push into Eagle’s territory. COs with a reduced direct offense will have to deal with surviving units by forcing Eagle to join wounded units together.
Fifth Map: Pivot Isle, a small/medium map primarily focused on ground/air combat. Docks are present if one decides to take that route. There are four landmasses, two starting peninsulas and two islands accessible by long bridges. A Factory Base is to the south with an Airport, and Seaport (Wharf), you should have a good early advantage in terms of capturing neutral bases.
The enemy CO here is Eagle, the daring pilot from Green Earth, who is well-tailored for this map due to two starting airports in his territory.
[War Room]
In War Room Players are put in maps wherein they must defeat enemies who are usually given an advantage at the start. War Room is a game mode found in Advance Wars, Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising and Advance Wars: Dual Strike. It features several maps which usually put the player at an initial disadvantage against one or multiple allied COs. Most War Room maps start without units on the map, making the player and AI rely on properties to purchase them. The amount of properties on a map can vary; small maps such Spann Island contain 21 of them, while maps such as Ring Islands have 82.

Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising is a turn-based strategy video game for the Game Boy Advance. It was developed by Intelligent Systems and published by Nintendo in 2003. It is the second game in the Advance Wars sub-series of Nintendo Wars. It is preceded by Advance Wars and followed by Advance Wars: Dual Strike. Despite being developed in the region, the original Japanese release was canceled, but the game was later released in the region alongside the original Advance Wars as part of a compilation cartridge called Game Boy Wars Advance 1+2 in 2004. At E3 2021, Nintendo announced that Black Hole Rising, alongside the original Advance Wars, would be remade and released together for the Nintendo Switch by WayForward in another compilation titled Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp.
Black Hole Rising is nearly identical to the previous game in terms of core gameplay; there was only a small change in overall graphical style and some small content additions. Black Hole has gathered forces to invade Macro Land under the command of Sturm, who led the invasion of Cosmo Land. The protagonists, the Allied Nations, cooperate once again to drive the Black Hole forces out of Macro Land once and for all.

Master Magician gone done and scared me in the ruins of Hauksness. So, Im going to grind some levels to gain confidence to acquire the Armor of Roto. Axe Knight guards the best Armor in the game, so you have to be able to deal enough damage to it, without dying. This fight could cause you to lose and have to try again depending on your equipment, and stats / level.
Gaining the Armor of Roto is big here, as it will regen your HP by 1 per step and increase your defense.

Dragon Quest, titled Dragon Warrior when initially localized to North America, is a role-playing video game developed by Chunsoft for the Nintendo Entertainment System. It was released by Enix in Japan in 1986 and by Nintendo in North America in 1989. It is the first game in the Dragon Quest video game series. Dragon Quest has been ported and remade for several video game platforms, including the MSX, MSX2, PC-9801, Super Famicom, Game Boy Color, Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation 4, mobile phones, and Nintendo Switch as of 2019. The player controls the hero character who is charged with saving the Kingdom of Alefgard and rescuing its princess from the evil Dragonlord. Dragon Warriors story became the second part in a trilogy, with several spinoff anime and manga series.
Dragon Quest was created by Yuji Horii, inspired by previous role-playing games such as Wizardry, Ultima, and his own 1983 game The Portopia Serial Murder Case. Horii wanted to create an introductory RPG for a wide audience. He emphasized storytelling and emotional involvement, and simplified the interface, to translate the mostly Western PC game genre of RPG to the Japanese console market. Manga artist and Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama produced the artwork and Koichi Sugiyama composed the music. The North American version features numerous changes, including battery-backed RAM save games (rather than using a password save system), larger character sprites, and pseudo-Elizabethan English style dialog.
Dragon Quest was commercially successful in Japan, but its later release as Dragon Warrior in North America was less favorably received. The original version of the game sold more than 2 million copies worldwide, with 1.5 million sold in Japan and 500,000 in the United States. Later, Western critics noted the games shortcomings but acknowledged its importance to the genre. It inspired fan-made ROM hacks with substantial changes. The games synthesized soundtrack has been orchestrated, and its music has been performed at numerous concerts. As a whole, Dragon Warrior has been credited with establishing the basic template for subsequent Japanese console RPGs.

Dragon Warrior is a single-player role-playing video game. Years after its release, its gameplay mechanics have been described as simplistic and spartan. The player controls a young hero who sets out to defeat a being known as the Dragonlord. The player starts with a menu to begin a new quest, continue a previous quest, or change the speed in which messages appear on the screen. In the Japanese version, continuing a quest requires a password. In the North American Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) English version, the quest is saved onto the game cartridges battery-backup (called an Adventure Log in the Imperial Scrolls of Honor), with options to delete or duplicate a saved quest. In a new quest, the player may give the hero any name which the game analyzes to determine the initial ability scores and their statistical growth over the course of the game.

Gameplay
The player frees a series of towns by fighting monsters in traditional dungeon crawl battles. Destroying monster lairs in the dungeons causes a soul belonging to a former town occupant to be liberated and reincarnated. This is often a human, but it could be anything from a dolphin to a talking tulip. As souls are freed, the town is reconstructed around the people. The new town occupants give the player advice and items. When the player defeats the boss monster imprisoning the soul of the head of each town, the area is cleared and the player can continue. After the hero frees the first six villages, he is granted access to the World of Evil, where the final villain awaits.
Plot
The Master sends one of his heavenly divine companions in the form of a human warrior to the Freil Empire, where the evil spirit Deathtoll has destroyed all villages and incarcerated the souls of all living creatures in his monster lairs, leaving the world empty. The warrior must defeat the monsters and liberate the inhabitants from the lairs, gradually repopulating the kingdom.
The Hero (Blazer) is the protagonist, a divine angel, deity or lesser-deity, or avatar, sent by The Master to restore the worlds creatures to life. Skilled with a sword and possessing the ability to speak with any living thing and be understood, he battles the hordes of Deathtoll with the assistance of his Soul helpers.
The warrior travels throughout the kingdom, defeating monsters in each of six regions to gather six magic stones, each a different color, in order to open the path to Deathtoll, who now resides in the World of Evil. The warrior must also find three sacred artifacts to call upon the power of the phoenix to defeat Deathtoll.

On the way, the warrior falls in love with Lisa, the daughter of a brilliant inventor named Dr. Leo. The warrior learns that the worlds devastation came about after King Magridd imprisoned Dr. Leo and forced him to make a machine to contact Deathtoll...
Reception
Quintet reported that Soul Blazer sold 200,000 copies in Japan, 70,000 copies in North America, and 25,000 copies in Europe, adding up to 295,000 cartridges sold worldwide.
Legacy
Game journalists and fans often consider Soul Blazer to be the first in an unofficial series followed by Illusion of Gaia and Terranigma. This series is nicknamed either Quintet Trilogy, Gaia Trilogy or Heaven and Earth Trilogy (after Terranigmas Japanese title, which translates to the creation of Heaven and Earth) by fans. The Granstream Saga is sometimes considered the fourth game in the series, as it was developed by Shade (a studio composed of former Quintet personnel), has similar themes, and makes references to the previous titles.

[Campaign mode]
The Campaign mode in Black Hole Rising differs from its predecessor Advance Wars in that the mission selection is non-linear. The campaign takes place over the games five continents, each focusing on one of the five countries in the game. The player plays as one or more commanding officers of the protagonist nations, fighting against the antagonist of the game, Black Hole. Each continent begins with several missions that the player can select from. Upon meeting certain requirements, new missions may become available.When the regular campaign has been completed, a more difficult Hard Campaign, in the vein of Advance Warss Advance Campaign, can be unlocked, generally featuring modified maps and starting units.
[Plot]
While the Allied Nations were still recovering from the war in Cosmo Land, the Black Hole Army had already recovered and has decided to launch a large-scale invasion on Macro Land. Along with the original Black Hole armys commanding officers (COs), four new COs were recruited, under the command of Sturm: Flak, Black Holes strongman in charge of invading Orange Star; Lash, a girl genius having invented most of Black Holes technologies, invading Blue Moon; Adder, a narcissic commander in charge of invading Yellow Comet; and Hawke, Black Holes second-in-command and Sturms most trusted ally. Sturm orders each Black Hole CO to invade and capture each of the four continents controlled by the four other armies from the original game: Orange Star was to be taken by Flak, Blue Moon by Lash, Yellow Comet by Adder, and Green Earth by Hawke. Lash also invented several new war weapons like the Black Cannon and the Mini Cannons that were to be put to use in this invasion. The four allied armies must now work together to drive Black Hole out of their world once and for all.

Final Fantasy Mystic Quest, released as Mystic Quest Legend in PAL regions and as Final Fantasy USA: Mystic Quest in Japan, is a role-playing video game for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. The game was released as a spin-off to Squares Final Fantasy series of video games. Final Fantasy Mystic Quest was first released in North America in 1992 and marketed as a simplified role-playing game... designed for the entry-level player in an attempt to broaden the genres appeal. The games presentation and battle system is broadly similar to that of the main series, but it differs in its inclusion of action-adventure game elements. Final Fantasy Mystic Quest was the first Final Fantasy game to be released in Europe.
In the game, the player controls a youth named Benjamin in his quest to save the world. His goal is to reclaim a set of stolen crystals that determine the state of the worlds four elemental powers. The gameplay takes a departure from the main series in a variety of ways. Many series staples are eliminated, such as random battles, save points, manual equipment, and the party system. The game received middling reviews and sales in North America and Japan, citing its simplified gameplay and lack of depth in the games story. Over time, the game has kept the reputation for being a beginners RPG and has been praised for its music.

Setting
The fictional events of Final Fantasy Mystic Quest take place on a single continent of an unnamed world, which is divided into four distinct regions: Foresta, Aquaria, Fireburg, and Windia. The welfare of each region is determined by the state of one of four shining crystals: earth, water, fire, and wind, respectively. For centuries the Focus Tower had stood at the heart of the world. It had been a center for trade and knowledge, and the worlds people met there to peacefully settle their differences. But on one warm summer day, powerful monsters stormed the Tower, stole the four crystals, and took off with the magical coins that kept the Towers doors unlocked. The monsters began consuming the power of the crystals; they grew in strength while the world began to decay. An old prophecy tells that at the time the vile four steal the power and divide the world behind four doors, a knight will appear to vanquish the darkness.
Development
Although designed by one of Squares development teams in Japan, Final Fantasy Mystic Quest was specifically geared for the U.S. market. At the time, console role-playing games were not a major genre in North America; Square thus attempted to broaden the genres appeal through Final Fantasy Mystic Quest. Square had already released several Final Fantasy spinoffs in North America, including the first three titles in the SaGa series as Final Fantasy Legend, and the first Mana series game as Final Fantasy Adventure, and wished to further break into the popular American consciousness. Squares executives cited the alleged difficulty of role-playing games as the reason Americans shied away from them, and eased the difficulty level by tweaking various aspects of the main series gameplay. The American release of Final Fantasy IV was altered to make the game simpler, for example. Mystic Quest was to take this one step further, and the Japanese developers worked with the American offices to make sure the game was accessible to children.
Mystic Quest was developed in a graphic and gameplay style similar to Final Fantasy Legend III (part of the aforementioned SaGa series). The game was marketed towards a younger demographic, the game sold for US$39.99.

Soul Blazer, released in Japan as Soul Blader, is an action role-playing video game developed by Quintet and published by Enix for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. It was released in 1992 in Japan and North America, but not released in Europe until 1994.
It is an action role-playing game where the player takes the role of The Masters servant, to destroy monsters and release the captured souls of a worlds inhabitants. The servant can be named by the player; however, in a later game developed by Quintet, Illusion of Gaia, he is referred to as Blazer.

Gameplay
The player frees a series of towns by fighting monsters in traditional dungeon crawl battles. Destroying monster lairs in the dungeons causes a soul belonging to a former town occupant to be liberated and reincarnated. This is often a human, but it could be anything from a dolphin to a talking tulip. As souls are freed, the town is reconstructed around the people. The new town occupants give the player advice and items. When the player defeats the boss monster imprisoning the soul of the head of each town, the area is cleared and the player can continue. After the hero frees the first six villages, he is granted access to the World of Evil, where the final villain awaits.
Plot
The Master sends one of his heavenly divine companions in the form of a human warrior to the Freil Empire, where the evil spirit Deathtoll has destroyed all villages and incarcerated the souls of all living creatures in his monster lairs, leaving the world empty. The warrior must defeat the monsters and liberate the inhabitants from the lairs, gradually repopulating the kingdom.
The Hero (Blazer) is the protagonist, a divine angel, deity or lesser-deity, or avatar, sent by The Master to restore the worlds creatures to life. Skilled with a sword and possessing the ability to speak with any living thing and be understood, he battles the hordes of Deathtoll with the assistance of his Soul helpers.
The warrior travels throughout the kingdom, defeating monsters in each of six regions to gather six magic stones, each a different color, in order to open the path to Deathtoll, who now resides in the World of Evil. The warrior must also find three sacred artifacts to call upon the power of the phoenix to defeat Deathtoll.

On the way, the warrior falls in love with Lisa, the daughter of a brilliant inventor named Dr. Leo. The warrior learns that the worlds devastation came about after King Magridd imprisoned Dr. Leo and forced him to make a machine to contact Deathtoll. After being summoned, Deathtoll offered the king a gold piece for each soul from his kingdom, and under the counsel of his wife, Magridd agreed, but was eventually imprisoned himself. Reception
Quintet reported that Soul Blazer sold 200,000 copies in Japan, 70,000 copies in North America, and 25,000 copies in Europe, adding up to 295,000 cartridges sold worldwide.
Legacy
Game journalists and fans often consider Soul Blazer to be the first in an unofficial series followed by Illusion of Gaia and Terranigma. This series is nicknamed either Quintet Trilogy, Gaia Trilogy or Heaven and Earth Trilogy (after Terranigmas Japanese title, which translates to the creation of Heaven and Earth) by fans. The Granstream Saga is sometimes considered the fourth game in the series, as it was developed by Shade (a studio composed of former Quintet personnel), has similar themes, and makes references to the previous titles.

Dragon Quest, titled Dragon Warrior when initially localized to North America, is a role-playing video game developed by Chunsoft for the Nintendo Entertainment System. It was released by Enix in Japan in 1986 and by Nintendo in North America in 1989. It is the first game in the Dragon Quest video game series. Dragon Quest has been ported and remade for several video game platforms, including the MSX, MSX2, PC-9801, Super Famicom, Game Boy Color, Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation 4, mobile phones, and Nintendo Switch as of 2019. The player controls the hero character who is charged with saving the Kingdom of Alefgard and rescuing its princess from the evil Dragonlord. Dragon Warriors story became the second part in a trilogy, with several spinoff anime and manga series.
Dragon Quest was created by Yuji Horii, inspired by previous role-playing games such as Wizardry, Ultima, and his own 1983 game The Portopia Serial Murder Case. Horii wanted to create an introductory RPG for a wide audience. He emphasized storytelling and emotional involvement, and simplified the interface, to translate the mostly Western PC game genre of RPG to the Japanese console market. Manga artist and Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama produced the artwork and Koichi Sugiyama composed the music. The North American version features numerous changes, including battery-backed RAM save games (rather than using a password save system), larger character sprites, and pseudo-Elizabethan English style dialog.
Dragon Quest was commercially successful in Japan, but its later release as Dragon Warrior in North America was less favorably received. The original version of the game sold more than 2 million copies worldwide, with 1.5 million sold in Japan and 500,000 in the United States. Later, Western critics noted the games shortcomings but acknowledged its importance to the genre. It inspired fan-made ROM hacks with substantial changes. The games synthesized soundtrack has been orchestrated, and its music has been performed at numerous concerts. As a whole, Dragon Warrior has been credited with establishing the basic template for subsequent Japanese console RPGs.

Dragon Warrior is a single-player role-playing video game. Years after its release, its gameplay mechanics have been described as simplistic and spartan. The player controls a young hero who sets out to defeat a being known as the Dragonlord. The player starts with a menu to begin a new quest, continue a previous quest, or change the speed in which messages appear on the screen. In the Japanese version, continuing a quest requires a password. In the North American Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) English version, the quest is saved onto the game cartridges battery-backup (called an Adventure Log in the Imperial Scrolls of Honor), with options to delete or duplicate a saved quest. In a new quest, the player may give the hero any name which the game analyzes to determine the initial ability scores and their statistical growth over the course of the game.
