This is the WIP (Work-In-Progress) of Vikings: Total War, a mod for Medieval 2: Total War: Kingdoms - entirely worked on by Peaman - the creator of Game of Thrones: Fire and Blood and Valyria: Total War.
So this mod is set in the Viking-age and has the same map as the mod known as "The Last Kingdom, well - kind of - it's been remade from scratch by Peaman and is now much wider with all 199 regions used. This means 31 factions, bigger continents and a much grander mod.
The mod is based on the Vikings TV-show first and foremost, but will also include factions and heroes from the other TV-show "The Last Kingdom" - so the mod named "The Last Kingdom" wasn't based on the TV-show of the same name but instead based on the books. This mod combines both TV-shows in an epic mod.
The mod Wrath of the Norsemen is based on historical accuracy from mythology and history and isn't based on any book or show from modern pop-culture - so this mod here is unique as it's based on the actual TV-shows.
It currently has a new UI, new quotes, new art, new factions, a new map which is finished, new strat-map models for all the generic generals/captains and the agents, the agents are available for recruitment as well as the ships, it has new ships on the map for every faction, all the factions have been placed out on the campaign map and given their regions, starting leaders etc - this is still a WIP so a lot could and will probably be added, the mod has new fresh music based on the Vikings TV-show but it seems to be remixed versions of some of the songs, it also has music based on The Last Kingdom for some factions, it has Swedish voices for the Norse as only Swedish voices existed from the game Empire: Total War which had already been ported to The Last Kingdom-mod (based on the books) in 2017 and from there to this mod, it has fully playable custom battles with basic, mid and elite infantry, all the cavalry and ranged units added - only lacking the heroes from the show - it now also has unit pictures for most units, the exception being the Norse if in ue by the Saxonsm likely because they need unique skins. Many factions in this mod have the same models but different skins, as an example the Norse factions share models but have different skins, the Saxon factions share models but have different skins, the Frankish factions, the Welsh, the Irish, the Scots - allof them share models if the same culture/people - but have different skins between the factions, this means that all the Norse, Franks, Saxons etc share the same models with others of the same people, but are using unique skins - different people-groups like the French, the Saxons or the Norse have different models thugh. The Kingdom of Rurikid or the Rus Vikings have a completely unique roster different from the others and it's a really cool roster with mostly armored troops.
The units have been added tot he campaign, and were it not for a crash it would be perfectly playable.
The AI will be fighting a custom battle as the Kingdom of Lothbrok VS the Kingdom of Northumbria, then the Kingdom of Lothbrok and the Kingdom of Norway against the Jarl(dom) of Götaland. I picked the factions based on the first giant battles in the show, but sadly didn't know what battlefields work or nor so I just picked a random one.
I've recently finished Season 6 of Vikings, or rather aevery episode but the last one, because I got kicked out from the Netflix account when I was about to watch the last episode, as it said Netflix no longer allows people to use their parents Netflix if they're notint he same household.. So it took almost three days for the sites AI to locate the IP-address and the last thing i saw was Floki coming down a small house in the New World. So one episode left, and I haven't watched Vikings: Valhalla yet.
As for the other show The Last Kingdoms I finished it a few years ago.
The mod is very promising with 100% unique models not seen anywhere else - but sharing of course building pics with WotN and TLK.
