Warcraft Total War: Classic Edition - Vrykul Roster Showcase: 4 AI Custom Battles (No Commentary)
Welcome back to the channel! In this video, we are showcasing four massive AI vs AI custom battles to see how the Vrykul perform completely under computer control. The Vrykul now field their largest and most complete roster ever in Warcraft Total War: Classic Edition.
To clarify the roster design for this edition: unlike the "Alpha Roster Edition" where 5 units used WC3 models, the Vrykul roster in the Classic Edition consists exclusively of WoW Classic models. Furthermore, instead of replacing the older Vrykul Raiders and Warriors (which happens in the Main Release and Classic 2nd Edition), those models have been kept and the new Vrykul Fighters and Vrykul Plunderers have been added alongside them as completely separate, unique units.
The Evolution of the Vrykul & Scale Changes:
This video is the first time these new Vrykul units are being previewed since 2024! You will notice some interesting scale differences in this build:
• In older versions, Vrykul males used a 1.6 giant scale and females used a 1.2 giant scale (based on animations from Warhammer: Beginning of the End Times).
• The new Vrykul males have been resized to match the scale of the old Tauren warriors. They are still significantly taller than Orcs, but currently slightly smaller than the old female Vrykul models. (The females will be resized or remade in a future update to fix this temporary height difference!).
A Timeline of New Additions Featured in this Video:
• December 2024: The old fan-made WC3 mammoth model was replaced with an updated Vrykul Mammoth. It is now a pure melee unit with static riders built directly into the mammoth mesh, removing the old axe-throwing mechanic.
• September/October 2025: Introduction of the Vrykul Val'kyr variant. While shared with the Forsaken and Scourge, the Vrykul version features natural hair colors (like blonde) and unique shield symbols, avoiding the unnatural purples and blues of the undead versions.
• October 2025: The arrival of the shorter Vrykul Plunderers and Vrykul Fighters.
The 4 AI Custom Battles Breakdown (AI Vrykul VS 4 AI Factions):
1. The Trade Coalition
2. The Drakkari: Showcasing their own remade Mammoth unit (which shares a slot with the Vrykul version but features unique skins and static Troll riders). They also feature a brand-new Pike unit and remade models that stand upright instead of being hunched.
3. The Scarlet Crusade: Classic Edition variant featuring WoW Classic models for the Priests, Militia, and Mages instead of the Alpha Edition versions.
4. The Kingdom of Azjol'Nerub: Note that the Crypt Lords in this build have a known texture glitch causing their head/rider area to appear green instead of purple.
