In this video I am letting the AI fight itself using the Subrosian minor faction as the "player's faction" due to them having a region which is unacessible for enemy AI troops - this means that Subrosia cannot be conquered 100% by the computer and this prevents the faction from losing which would end the campaign and force the player into returning to the main menu. The rebels aren't selectable in this mod even when added to the descr_strat-file as they lack the faction selection symbol. The only other faction one could use out of the playable ones would be any of the two "Forces of the Twilight"-factions but I wanted to see how they did as the AI in this campaign and as such couldn't use them.
This video is at 1 hour 29 minutes long and is an entire AI-only playtest campaign - the campaign ends officially at turn 179 but could be continued beyond that if the player wants to. The gameplay was originally at 12 hours but I am using the 8X Playback Speed feature of the Bandicut tool.
In this video all the factions will be controlled by the AI/computer, the map will be fully visible, I do have "follow AI moves" on - you will be able to see the AI play as the camera will zoom-in on each factions capital on their turn - the camera will have the maximum zoom-out possible.

![Warcraft: Total War - Scarlet Crusade vs The Scourge | Alpha Roster Edition -Unreleased Mod Showcase
[NOTE] This mod is currently unreleased and under development.
Welcome back to Warcraft: Total War! In this 23-minute custom battle, the Scarlet Crusade clashes with the relentless Scourge in a showcase of the brand-new, unreleased Alpha Roster Edition.
This project is a heavily modified version of the Classic Edition, effectively demaking the rosters to bring back the nostalgic, fan-made alpha models from the original 2017 Custom Battle Alpha. While the Classic Edition features a fully playable campaign, this new edition integrates these classic alpha models into the campaign framework for the very first time!
What’s new in this showcase:
🛡️ The Scarlet Crusade:
Alpha Models: The Militia, Priests of the Holy Light, and Human Mages now utilize the classic, fan-made alpha models instead of standard World of Warcraft Classic models.
Armor Upgrade: The Human Footmen have received a brand-new armor upgrade featuring a badass winged helmet, utilizing the captains model. (The spellcasters and militia models were implemented back in October, but this is their first video debut alongside the recent armor upgrade!).
🧟 The Scourge:
Features the complete demo-roster finalized last October. This includes a mix of modern models alongside older WC3-style Ymirjar Champions, Varguls, Vrykul, Banshees, Acolytes, Undead Trolls, fan-made skeletons, Abominations, and zombies.
Development Update:
While the units are now fully coded and working flawlessly in Custom Battles as of yesterday, the campaign implementation is still a work in progress. This is the first of several Custom Battle showcases recorded recently. Interestingly, most of the modding over the past two weeks focused on other factions (Lordaeron, Stormwind, Theramore) since the Scarlet Crusade and Stromgarde didnt have original alpha models to pull from. As a result, this first video showcases the faction with the fewest changes—saving the massive overhauls for upcoming videos!
If you enjoyed this deep dive into Warcraft total war history, make sure to like, comment, and subscribe for more updates on the Alpha Roster Edition!
