In this sermon, Pastor Jeremiah Nortier traces the biblical theme of the Kingdom of God through the resurrection and reign of Jesus Christ. From Adam’s failure in the garden to Christ’s victory over sin, Satan, and death, Scripture shows us that Jesus is the true and better Adam who restores what was lost and will one day consummate His everlasting Kingdom.
Working through 1 Corinthians 15:20–26, Pastor Jeremiah considers three central truths: The Redeemer, The Redeemed, and The Restoration. Christ has been raised as the firstfruits of those who belong to Him, He presently reigns, and at His return the dead will be raised and the final enemy, death itself, will be destroyed.
The Kingdom of God is already present through the reign of Christ and the work of the Holy Spirit among His people, yet we still await its final consummation when Christ returns and makes all things new.
