For My Name’s Sake | Acts 14:19–23
What does faithfulness to Christ actually cost? In Acts 14:19–23, we see the Apostle Paul endure hatred, suffering, and opposition for the sake of Christ’s name, yet continue strengthening the church with courage, conviction, and pastoral care.
In this sermon, we examine:
• The Cost of Faithfulness (v.19)
• Hatred from the World
• Prophecy from a Reliable Source
• The Rising Pressure Against the Gospel
• The Benefit of Suffering
• The Courage to Speak the Truth (vv.20–21)
• The Determination to Disciple Souls (vv.22–23)
• Confirmation, Exhortation, and Organization in the Early Church
• Commendation of believers to the Lord’s care
Acts reminds us that gospel ministry is not sustained by comfort but by conviction. Faithful churches are strengthened through perseverance, discipleship, and trust in God’s sovereign purposes even in hardship.

Twelve 5 Church exists to exalt Christ and equip the saints through expositional preaching, doctrinally rich worship, intentional discipleship, and biblical fellowship.
Important Note
This livestream is intended only as a supplement, not a substitute for the gathered worship of the local church. Scripture teaches that believers are to gather each Lord’s Day under the shepherding of a local body to participate in the ordinary and sanctified means of grace: the preaching of the Word, prayer, singing, fellowship, and the ordinances (Hebrews 10:24–25; Acts 2:42).
If you are able, we strongly encourage you to be committed to and physically present with your own local church every Lord’s Day.
