"The House is Rockin'" is the first track of In Step, Stevie Ray Vaughan's fourth and final studio album with his Double Trouble band in 1989. The title is a play on a popular bumper sticker on vans the 1970's, which said, "If this van's a-rockin', don't bother knockin'. The song was a prominent soundtrack in the 1996 film Multiplicity and also used in an episode of the TV series Supernatural. Stephen Ray Vaughan was an American musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer. Although his short-lived mainstream career spanned seven years, he was an influential guitarist, and one of the most important figures in the revival of blues in the 1980's. He has been described as a rocking powerhouse guitarist who gave blues a burst of momentum. Vaughan received several music awards during his lifetime (including six Grammy) and posthumously. He was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame, and the Musicians Hall of Fame. Rolling Stone ranked him as the twelfth greatest guitarist of all time, and Vaughn was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
