Here we have the latest deluxe edition of ’The Hobbit’ by J.R.R. Tolkien, published by HarperCollins and illustrated by Tolkien himself.
This edition includes the complete text with a 20 page foreword by Christopher Tolkien. It is illustrated with more than 50 full-colour paintings, maps, drawings and designs by J.R.R Tolkien.
Included are also an 88-page long booklet with illustrations and a history of the writing and publication of The Hobbit, with surviving pages of the earliest manuscript, a poem and a lecture by Tolkien.
There are also two fold out maps drawn by J.R.R. Tolkien, a facsimile of Thorin’s letter to Bilbo written in Tengwar by Tolkien and a reproduction of the original dust jacket design printed on heavy card.
