Here we have the deluxe edition of Gyo by horror manga artist Junji Ito published by Viz Media. This edition contains volume 1 and 2 of Gyo, as well as two bonus stories.
This deluxe edition is bound in paper in a glued perfect binding, sadly. The book opens up fairly well but not perfectly. You’d think a deluxe edition of this sort would have a sewn binding but that’s not the case for this edition.
The paper is of decent quality and the print quality is good.
The book is printed and bound in the US. This is the sixth printing from 2019.
I finished Gyo yesterday and thought the artwork, as always by Ito, was disturbing and extremely imaginative. I didn’t particularly enjoy the writing for the story itself but dreading to turn to the next page due to Ito’s ability to create the worst imaginable makes up for any poor writing.
