Charted at #70 on Billboard Hot 100 in November 1963. This was their only Hot 100 entry. Based on a German folk song called "Du Du Liegst Mir Im Herzen". In 1949, four versions had been Billboard hits for Russ Morgan, the Ames Brothers, the Three Suns and Ken Griffin as "You, You, You Are The One" (with different lyrics). Yet another version with different lyrics, entitled "Do, Do, Do (What Your Heart Says)" charted on the Cash Box chart for Tony Martin in 1955.
The strange sound in the background accompaniment is a saw! The group members were:

A comment on my original posting of this song by a member of the Galens, George Rosander, filled us in on more info. regarding the recording. It read:
"Wow! Surprised to find this on You Tube! I was in the Galens! I played drums and sang background vocals. I saw the comment about Dave Burgess getting credit for playing saw on Baby I Do Love You. It was actually Glen Campbell playing the saw! He also played guitar on this and a couple of other songs, if my memory serves me right. Just wanted to set the record straight. This was back when Glen was a busy session player and before his rise to stardom. FYI, I was using George Ross as a stage name back then. Ah, showbiz ..."
Original Billboard review: "An interesting side which starts with boys' group singing an old German melody in German with a girls' group moving up later to do an effective counter melody in English. There's a high-pitched ocarina effect in the backing. Distinctive enough to go."
My corrections to the Billboard review: The ocarina is actually a saw, and the girls' "group" is really just Charlene.
