Exploring Abandoned Mines and Unusual Places | The Brown Cow Mine is a Bust! @AbandonedMines11 | Uploaded June 2021 | Updated October 2024, 9 minutes ago.
Opening scene: I'm off-roading up in the mountains in my 2006 Corolla that has over 410,000 miles on it. Next scene: After coming across a couple cows next to the road, I begin my hike to the Brown Cow Mine located in Owens Valley. This abandoned mine is reached by hiking down an old mining road for a mile or so. I had no idea what I would find. Topographic maps showed an adit symbol at the end of the road. Along the way, I stop and explain how miners knew where to dig their tunnels and shafts. Lots of spectacular scenery along the hike, too, of the White Mountains, Owens Valley, and the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Enjoy!
