#NYCmoments in Times Square this morning at the annual New Year's Eve confetti-drop test.
Each year in preparation for NYE, the Times Square Alliance, One Times Square, and Countdown Entertainment (the co-organizers of Times Square New Year’s Eve) — along with presenting sponsor Planet Fitness — release multicolored confetti in Broadway Plaza (between 45th & 46th streets) to ensure that the paper pieces will flutter to the ground properly on the big night.
It's one of several events in December that the Times Square Alliance hosts to usher in the coming year.
The 3,000 pounds of confetti that will drop on NYE will include wishes from thousands of people who were invited to submit them through December 25 in person at the Wishing Wall in Times Square as well as online.
