Seeing at least one floating market in Thailand is a must, and I was fortunate to see two floating markets on day trips from Bangkok. The first market I visited was the famous and crowded Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, which was great. The second one was the Tha Kha Floating Market, which is about 50 miles Southwest of Bangkok. It is a quieter and more authentic market than Dannoen Saduak because it focuses more on locals bringing their fruits and vegetables to the market, which are bought by locals and tourists alike. In Danmoen Saduak we got around on speedboats with engines; here we got around with a rowboat and a paddle. I took a boat ride with my guide and boat pilot, and once we passed the vendors in the market, we rode around the small canals and saw lots of beautiful green palm trees. It was a very relaxing experience.
