I got the chance to test ride the Commencal Meta Power SX 400. This is a 170 front and 170 rear light E Bike. It has the new Bosch SX motor that puts out 55 NM power and has a 400 Watt battery.
This bike wasn't made to be the lightest bike, its purpose is to help get you to the top of the mountain like an E bike and able to get you down like an enduro bike. Most people know that full fat E bikes don't descend as well as lighter enduro bikes because you have to break earlier, cornering, jumping and taking drops all take more effort. This bike rides down like an enduro bike. Unfortunately for me I was on a size Medium and I should've been on a size small. The bike felt great sitting on it because the cockpit feels like most other size Medium bikes Ive ridden however, the wheel base of this bike is really big and I felt it as soon as I started going down. This is a light E bike so you won't get the same amount of power as a full fat E bike. If you are the type of rider that is always on Boost this bike isn't for you. However if you are someone like myself that is always on Trail or Eco then the power and battery should be more than enough. The lack of power is offset by the feel of the bike going down.
