About a week ago, a mother opossum was hit by a car and severly injured. Unfortunately, she had to be euthanized, but her pouch contained ten very small babies, weighing in at ten grams apiece, probably about four weeks old. The ten babies are doing suprisingly well, considering how small they were, and have all gained one or two grams and are starting to grow a fine down of fur.
