Tangerine Falls is known for being the hardest waterfall hike in Santa Barbara. Once the trail hits the creek bed, there is no more trail. Instead, hikers navigate various stream crossings and boulder fields, scrambling and bushwhacking through plenty of poison oak in the hopes of reaching the elusive Tangerine Falls. If you go at the right time, this waterfall can absolutely pop off, and, because it is a challenging hike with a little class 3 scrambling, we had the place all to ourselves.
