Hey Guys and Gals got this on ebay for around $40, so not a bad deal seeing I have seen them go for almost double that price!
This is a small electric powered locomotive from the Take Along Thomas series and its called the Charge & Go Thomas or Thomas and water tower charger set. The water tower takes 3xAA batteries and the plug on the end of the arm plugs into Thomas' dome to charge him up for his next run!
It looks great almost identical to the regular take along thomas but there are small changes, such as the enclosed cab, the traction tires on the rear wheels and the charging pint on the dome. Its not possible to open up thomas without damaging it as its riveted closed like a normal take along/take n play.
It takes 10 secs or so to charge it to full and that gives around 50 secs run time at full speed and then a further 25 seconds as he slows and crawls to a halt. A very interesting item that never really took off or was produced for a long time (I wonder why?). It can pull a load and I have no doubt in my mind it could pull several trucks or annie and clarabel with no problems although the runtime is greatly reduced by load pulling.
