A partial solution to the stray-dog crisis in the City of Syracuse could soon be on the horizon. The appraisal process is now underway for a future city-owned shelter. This comes after a Syracuse Common Council vote on Monday.

The shelter, if everything is approved, would be on Burnet Avenue, near Thompson Road. It would serve anywhere from 60 to 70 dogs.
