The Regional STEAM High School is heading into its second year after school leaders say the first year brought nearly 250 freshmen into the building and gave students hands-on experience with local industry.
The school, which opened last year as a regional career and technical education program, connected its first class with academic support and work-based learning opportunities.
CTE executive director for the Syracuse City School District, Erin K. Noto said each ninth grader completed more than 30 hours of work-based learning during the first year.
