The footage documents the aftermath of an incident on May 13th, 2023 in Ramsey, New Jersey. A black Mercedes SUV smashed directly into the Apolo Jewelry Store on East Main Street. Fortunately, the store was empty at the time. The accident occurred before business hours, and no employees were hurt.
First responders provided medical assistance to the drive who was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center.
The Ramsey police report indicates there was "no odor in the vehicle of an alcoholic beverage”. They concluded there were no signs of alcohol or drug impairment. Officers determined the collision was caused by an “unknown medical episode” experienced by the driver.
Police and paramedic reports align that there was "no criminal element" involved, and their findings "did not indicate the accident was caused by alcohol/drug/medication impairment.”
No charges were filed. The extent of the drivers injuries are not known publicly.
