According to police, 39-year-old Jimmie Shoemaker-Gonzalez began his crime spree in Hartford, where he assaulted a man with a knife and stole a blue Dodge Durango. Minutes later, he allegedly slashed another victim and carjacked a Toyota Rav4 outside the Tractor Supply store in Farmington. When officers in Bristol CT finally encountered him, Shoemaker-Gonzalez tried to flee, crashed the Rav4, and took off running — and that’s where the footage begins.
During the chaos that followed, he broke away from officers, doubled back, and jumped into a Bristol Police Ford Interceptor Utility, stealing the cruiser while officers were at gunpoint giving commands. He later told detectives he had smoked PCP and felt like he was “in GTA-5.” Shockingly, no one was killed during the knife assaults, vehicle thefts, crashes, or the stolen-cruiser getaway.
Jimmie Shoemaker-Gonzalez was convicted and sentenced to 15 years in prison, suspended after six years and nine months, followed by three years of probation. He faced the following charges:
First-degree assault
Attempt to commit robbery
Assault with a weapon
Third-degree attempt to commit larceny
First-degree larceny
Second-degree robbery with a weapon
Shockingly no one was hurt in this incredibly dangerous incident.
