On March 4, 2024, Florida Highway Patrol attempted to stop a white Dodge Charger Scat Pack 392 for dark window tint on I-75 near Mile Marker 153 in Charlotte County, Florida. The driver refused to stop and took off, pushing speeds over 145 MPH.
What followed was a high-speed chase through Charlotte and Lee County, with troopers in pursuit driving the same Scat Pack model. At one point, the driver collided with a patrol unit before crashing into a swamp — ending the pursuit in two feet of water.
During the search, troopers found a loaded handgun in the glovebox, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. The driver, Tabias Bershard Travio Cody, now faces multiple felony charges, including aggravated fleeing and eluding, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, reckless driving, and possession of a firearm.
