A black Audi S3 flying down I-75 with two street bikes following — a street race at highway speeds. The Audi weaved through traffic, blew a red light, and finally gave up when a tire shredded, smoke pouring from the hood like the motor had quit. What do you think happened — blown engine or just a cooked turbo?
The driver, 23-year-old Jordy A. Gomez, surrendered without incident.
He was arrested and charged with:
Fleeing & Eluding Law Enforcement (3rd-degree felony)
Reckless Driving with Property Damage (1st-degree misdemeanor)
Reckless Driving – First Offense (2nd-degree misdemeanor)
Operating a Vehicle 50+ MPH Over the Limit (2nd-degree misdemeanor)
Street Racing/Stunt Driving Violation (1st-degree misdemeanor)
Booked into the Lee County Jail just after midnight on August 18, 2025, Gomez was released later that day after posting $10,500 bond. His arraignment was set for September 15, 2025.
⚡ Up next: the original song written for this case. It’s about speed, choices, and almost meeting the reaper — a track that came straight from the heart.
