Scripps News | Supreme Court begins new term with decision impacting emergency abortions @scrippsnews | Uploaded October 2024 | Updated October 2024, 3 days ago.
The US Supreme Court began its new term on Monday and kicked off its new term with a consequential decision. The court rejected a Biden administration appeal of a lower court's ruling that bars emergency abortions in Texas that violate its restrictive law.
One of the biggest cases to be heard is Garland v. VanDerStok. The issue to be argued is whether the federal government can ban ghost guns, which were restricted in 2022. Ghost guns are guns that can be assembled at home from kits sold online and don't have traditional serial numbers.
