Last week it was reported a 2-year-old child was lost in Santa Clara County's Child Protective Services (CPS) and foster care system. At the same time, we were reporting on a case that arose from the family court where the father, working for @NASA. The father in the case obtained a restraining order against his former wife and got her on a professionally supervised visitation order for 4 years. Now that father is facing criminal charges and the family court order is putting the children in the county's foster care system and dependency court. We don't report on systems — we report on the elected officials and public employees managing them and hope our work helps everyone impacted by government wrongdoing, incompetence and conduct as decribed in our article.
