Grassdigger | Super Mario Sunshine: Gelato 4 NO FLUDD 0x A presses (RTA) @grassdigger8695 | Uploaded July 2017 | Updated October 2024, 2 hours ago.
Most of the strategies in the video, like walking up the side of the map or riding the sand bird twice to reach the shine sprite, were first demonstrated by Noki Doki.
However, the previous strategy used the dune bug where the secret shine sprite is in order to reach the trampoline hoverless. This involves sprays, but why use FLUDD when we don't need to use it at all? Instead, we go into first-person mode as we get thrown by a chuckster, which lets Mario get thrown directly behind him. We land on the side of the tall structure (and for some reason I don't slide), then I do some tricky movement to reach the sand bird's egg.
The chuckster may even provide a quicker strategy if FLUDD was allowed, especially since once Mario lands on the side of the tall structure, a simple hover should place Mario to the loading zone.
This shine sprite was previously done with sprays. Here is that strategy: youtube.com/watch?v=okWxB2lbAko
Here is a playlist of all of the A Button Challenge strats in Super Mario Sunshine that minimize nozzles like sprays and hovers (by Noki Doki): youtube.com/playlist?list=PLcqGF02V7JmkxktL7PRRHv_AhbdF_k9eh
