nemi43 | Super Mario Galaxy 2 - Single-segment 71-Star speed run (Part 10) @nemi43 | Uploaded 12 years ago | Updated 22 hours ago
Part 10 - Worlds 3, 4, and 6 Comet Stars and Galaxy Generator
Total time: 3h 17m 50s
1 death @ Galaxy Generator
0:39 - 65.Haunty Halls C - 33.88s
Gyapee, gyapee, gyapee, nyahaa, gyapee, nyahaa...
2:16 - 66.Beat Block C - 44.51s
I spin at the end because the blocks sometimes switch as soon as I regain control of Mario.
4:09 - 67.Gravity Gauntlet C - 58.13s
I got hit by a fire stick near the end, but it doesn't cost much time. I'm pretty happy with anything below 1 min here.
6:05 - 68.Starshine Beach C - 40.33s
6:48 - I don't know why the jump towards the Star didn't gain much height. Sometimes I'll get full height out of that jump, while other times I'll get no height at all.
7:47 - 69.Throwback C - 55.48s
Thanks to Marsonioic for the idea of jumping off the Bob-omb Buddy at the beginning. This method makes it possible to long-jump past the Sliding Stone.

9:40 - 70.Flash Black C - 1m 1.61s
I didn't conserve my Star Bits very well, and I ran out too early.
12:19 - 71.Galaxy Generator 1 - 7m 50.16s
14:29 - The most frustrating thing about this death is that it's caused by a mistake I rarely make. The most common mistakes I make with this shortcut are dismounting too early or gaining too much height and getting caught by the Cloud Flower planet's gravity.
16:44 - I got hit here, but it doesn't really matter because I want to delay the first hit on Bowser to cancel one of his punches.
25:41 - I've never seen this glitch before...
26:28 - Fluttering too high here will cause Mario and Yoshi to "fall" upwards and die. Dying doesn't prevent the credits from ending in time, so it's a harmless glitch. Too bad I failed :\
