I'm going to upload this because I don't know when I'll be able to do the main Star and Green Star 2.
I let the opening play for a bit to adjust the timing of the bubbles at 0:23. The timing of the bubbles is pretty sensitive, though, so the ideal timing also depends on the execution of the run. If the bubbles are even slightly out of position, it's easy to get caught in one.
0:08 - To do a sideways wall jump, just hold the analog stick sideways through the entirety of the spin before the jump. Make sure to hold sideways for the entire spin or else the wall jump will likely be slightly diagonal.
0:21 - I know someone found this method for bypassing the Bee Mushroom before I did, but I'm sorry to say I've forgotten who it is...
This works because the Bee Mushroom marks the start of a 2D section. This 2D section seems to extend a little beyond the width of the ledge.
When you're in a 2D section, the game tries to constrain you to move along a single plane. If you're off of this plane, Mario/Luigi gets slowly pulled towards the plane until they're in line with it. (An easy place to see this effect is Flash Black because you can simply enter the house from the side that doesn't have a wall.) This pulling action is what's preventing Luigi from falling because he is already in the 2D section when he's in front of the Bee Mushroom, but he is not in line with the plane (after all, he's not even on the ledge).
0:26 - Getting the timing of these bubbles right is probably the most frustrating part of this galaxy.
0:35 - There is an obvious way to improve the run here. Sometimes, when Luigi releases the dandelion, he faces backwards after doing so. Gaining height with the dandelion, releasing it, and then falling backwards onto the Star is faster than holding the dandelion the entire way.
The problem is I don't know what causes Luigi to face backwards, and he usually ends up facing forwards after releasing the dandelion. I've tried releasing while doing a spin, but that didn't seem to make a difference. After having several runs fail because Luigi didn't face backwards, I decided to settle for this.
For the main Star and Green Star 2, there are 2 ways to reach the second planet.
1. Do a homing ground pound off the Bee. This requires a couple of cloud jumps and a pretty precise angle, but it's doable.
2. Grab the dandelion, gain height, release and fall backwards onto the planet.
The second method is faster, but unless a reliable method of facing backwards is found, the first method is probably preferable.
