This glitch is possible in SM64DS too!
To do this, you need Luigi & Wario unlocked. Go to Shifting Sand Land as Luigi, and set up the swimming Out of Bounds glitch (Found by Swordless Link: youtube.com/watch?v=fFLMm8sBkSU) using a Wario cap. Now lose your cap: you can just run under Klepto and he'll steal it from you.
Swim under the pyramid, and get near to the bottom entrance. This is the hardest part: you need to jump into the small room behind the loading zone, but stay inside the wall. It's very easy to be pushed back inbounds, making this jump extremely precise. Once in position, all you need to do is backflip towards the centre of the pyramid, and you'll land beneath the top loading zone. Jump and you're in!
This might also be possible as Mario by using a triple jump and a dive (from the bottom entrance to the pyramid), but I wasn't able to manage it.
