Subclavian Steal Syndrome (“Stealing Blood From Brain”) | Risk Factors, Symptoms, Diagnosis & Treatment

Subclavian Steal Syndrome is a condition involving stenosis of the subclavian artery proximal to the origin of the vertebral artery. It is a condition involving the subclavian artery stealing blood away from the vertebral arteries (vertebrobasilar system of the brain) leading to a host of signs and symptoms. In this lesson, we discuss the pathophysiology, risk factors, signs and symptoms, diagnosis and treatment.
