This iguana had spent months recovering with our team in Costa Rica after being found injured on the road, with wounds consistent with a dog bite. Since December, our vets had been treating them, including with tilapia skin therapy to help support healing.
Release day arrived. Freedom was calling. The crate door opened.
And the iguana said: NOPE.
After plenty of encouragement, a gentle shake, and some very reluctant tail-assisted cooperation, they finally dashed off into the wild where they belong.
