"You are wasting time and lives! Move!" --Richter
Sometimes you are just looking for a secret when there is none. I do not think I have ever remembered you can just pay 100 gold to the armor seller to open the secret shop. Ah well!
The small temple after the Catacombs is curiously shaped like the usual Order symbols and insignia. There are also clearly murals with what looks like some ancient civilization. Whatever crashed on the planet and started controlling some people was perhaps always there or just came back home... Curiously enough when the Programmer died there was no Spectre and the Spectre in the small temple has no host. It is assumed this is the Spectre that belonged to the Programmer. Since the Spectres cannot be harmed without the Sigil or its pieces, that was quite lucky the first piece came from the Programmer. Huh.
It is unclear what the Order uses the Degnin ore for but I assume that is the ore used in general for their armor and/or weaponry and/or ammunition.
You can of course go back to the Commons and detonate the force field there but it alerts the entire garrison. That is why the mine backdoor exists.
In the original version you could get stuck if you by accident wasted all the ore or simply detonated the pieces found in the mine shaft without collecting any. In the Veteran Edition new pieces simply spawn.
Considering how many pieces you get and only end up using one or two, I wonder if there was some original idea when you could come back to previous places and open force fields you previously had to ignore.
NPC Score Card: Beldin, Harris, Warden Montag, Judge Wolenick, random Technician (sorry), Ketrick, The Programmer, random Peasant (really sorry), The Bishop, The Oracle
