MAP 9: Wizard's Maze - 0:00
MAP 10: Underground Sewers - 11:06
MAP 11: Flooded City - 16:27
MAP 12: Computer Core - 21:17
MAP 13: Chamber of the Invisible Horror - 30:04
What is there not to love about ancient skeletons outfitted with chainguns/rocket launchers instead of their old swords and sent to battle like that?
MAP 13 is my favorite map in the entire series. Intentionally or not intentionally, it creates a surprising switch to what you can call an attempt at survival horror. It takes place, I assume, on a space station where Nemesis rules from and is populated by the aptly named Invisible Horrors. They stalk you and remain cloaked and untouchable until a moment when they suddenly materialize and start ripping you apart. This combined with the lack of music and the sound of your footsteps plus the usual claustrophobic corridors now textured with monotone futuristic metal panels gives away some sense of dread? Hm.
As all proper magicians say: "Cast first, study scriptures later."
